Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has felicitated the Olubara of Ibara kingdom, Oba Dr. Jacob Olufemi Omolade on his 90th birthday celebration, describing him as a revered royal father, whose integrity and love for people of the state is second to none.
Governor Abiodun who made this known in his remarks during the thanksgiving service for the celebrant, held at Chapel of Christ the Glorious King, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, thanked God for his grace, mercies and the gift of life for the celebrant.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, the governor noted that celebrating 90 years was a great milestone in the life of the monarch, praying to God Almighty to spare his life to celebrate more in the land of the living.
According to him, Olubara is a well respected and highly cerebral king, a peace maker, respecter of the law, time conscious, a good father and a religious king”
He however urged the octogenarian to continue his good deeds, engage in regular health check up, eat well and relax as he ages gracefully
Speaking on the topic, This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it and taking his text from the book of Psalm 118 vs 23 to 24, the Diocesan Bishop, Diocese of Egba west, RT. Reverend Samuel Ogundeji, said that celebrating birthday was one of the ways to remember what God has done for us and expressing gratitude to Him, noting that giving thanks to God is an act of worship and appreciating Him for His benevolence and grace upon our lifes.
He urged the celebrant that as he continued in the journey of life, he should remain patient, vigilant, prayerful, serve God truly, worry less, make all request known to God, be prayerful and do things that will bring succour to his people.
Dignitaries at the event included the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Former Governors of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Governor of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola alongside both past and serving government functionaries.
Also present was the Alake and paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Agura of Agura, Oba Sabur Babajide Bakre, Olota of Ota, Oba (Professor) Abdulkabir Obalanlege, while Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland and Olowu of Owu were represented.
