Gov Abdulrazaq begs sunset teachers to withdraw court case against Kwara Govt

By Saka Laaro

Gov Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has appealed to the ‘sunset teachers’ to withdraw the lawsuit they filed against the Kwara State Government over their unlawful dismissal from service.

The governor who made the appeal through a government official, Lawyer Teslim Sulyman, who met with the affected teachers on Monday 5th July 2021 in Ilorin, begged them to immediately end the case to save the State government from embarrassment at the court.

While pleading to them, the Governor’s representative admitted that the government has no meaningful defense for its unlawful action against the teachers, noting that the only grace is for some of the teachers to sign against the lawsuit to kill the case.

The representatives of the sunset teachers who were present at the meeting however remained resolute and avowed that they wouldn’t withdraw the case.

They maintained that neither Governor Abdulrazaq nor any of his agents can intimidate them to work against the collective will of their members whom they said have been returned to the street as beggars and rendered homeless by the administration of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
