Google fuels Nigerian innovation with N75m SMBs grant

Fifteen small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Nigeria have been granted a total of N75 million by Google’s Hustle Academy.

In addition to the financial support, these SMBs will also receive ongoing mentorship and assistance from Google’s initiative.

Google announced on Thursday that it has chosen 15 small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Nigeria to receive support from the 75 Million Naira Hustle Academy Fund.

The recipients of the support represent various industries and showcase the creativity of Nigerian entrepreneurs.

They include Ifeoma Augusta Anselem from Rae’s Clothing, Femi Bolaji from Wauley Projects Limited, Nafisa Abdulrazaq Sabo from Pinch N’ Dash, Funmilola Moronke Agbayewa from Segunfunmi Foods Nigeria Limited, Chigozie Bashua from The Nut Place Limited, John Samuel Andefiki from Kita Farm, Hussaini Aliyu Baba from Lead Way Family Poultry, Aminu Abdulkarim from A.A.K. Shoes, Constance Ufuoma Edesiri from Stance Fashion Empire, Chikere Onyinyechi Breakthrough from Clozetsales, Anita Aletor from Rotela Business Synergy, Ojo Femi Christopher from Foodlane Ventures, Angela Jidechukwu Nwabueze from Jelapetra Farms Ltd, Eniola Robert from Ennie Wears, and Blessing Akpan from Inyene Agro Processing Factory Ltd.In addition to the support for these SMBs, Google also announced that 5,300 SMBs have successfully graduated from Google’s Hustle Academy.

This graduation demonstrated their commitment to improving their business acumen and expertise.

The initiative by Google is seen as a significant boost for Nigerian SMBs, providing them with the necessary resources and guidance to thrive in their respective industries. With the support of Google, these businesses have the potential to make a significant impact on the Nigerian economy and contribute to its growth.

Since the program’s inception in 2022, more than 10,300 entrepreneurs have taken part, and the commencement ceremony signifies the program’s prolonged influence.

Developed to tackle the unique obstacles encountered by SMBs in Africa, the Hustle Academy programme provides these companies with strategic alliances and operational support.

As an expanding community of businesses committed to ongoing development and learning, this year’s graduation builds upon the momentum established with last year’s 5,000 graduates.
