The Good Samaritan Foundation has launched in Nigeria at a colourful ceremony held in Lagos.
At the ceremony to welcome the humanitarian organization into the Nigerian space, the NGO also unveiled “the Loburo Village Project.”
The foundation based in the United Kingdom (UK) had been operating since 2010 from the UK.
Speaking at the event, the Founder, Counsellor Lady Funmi Ademilua said the aim of the foundation is to assist with humanitarian services across Nigeria.
“In the heart of Loburo, a beacon of hope is rising. This centre, envisioned by The Good Samaritan Foundation, will be a sanctuary of learning and transformation. It will be a place where dreams are nurtured, skills are honed, and futures are reshaped. By providing skills acquisition venues, this centre will empower its beneficiaries, guiding them toward financial independence and enabling them to become employers of labour in their communities.
“This endeavour is not just about building a facility; it’s about building lives. It’s about giving individuals the tools they need to craft a better tomorrow for themselves and their families and communities. Together, we are sowing the seeds of self-reliance and resilience,” she said.
She noted that: “This endeavour is not just about building a facility, but about building lives.”
“The foundation hopes to create value by launching the Loburo Village Project, a vocational centre along Lagos-Ibadan expressway which would help in rehabilitating persons seeking to make them valuable not only to themselves but to the families and society at large.”
Connecting with the grassroots, the Foundation hopes to assist poor families, people from the streets, children who have taken into crime, drug abuse and other illegal activities etc.
The Vocational center is expected to serve as the home to the foundation. It will consist of a Crèche, Primary school, event centre, clinic, interdenominational worship centre, a Library and an art gallery.
The vocational center is expected to be completed in 2025.
