Gboko West Assembly member-elect escapes assassination from unknown gunmen as car was set ablaze in Benue

Benue State House of Assembly member – elect Hon. Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh, for Gboko West Constituency in the State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC)in the recent State Assembly elections narrowly escaped assassination from the hands of unknown gunmen in Gboko Local Government Area of the state while his private Toyota car was set ablaze.

A close relative who spoke with Nigerian NewsDirect on telephone conversation on condition of anonymity explained that the assembly member elect in the early hours of Thursday hosted elders of his constituency for a meeting in his Gboko residence after which committees set up in the meeting were delegated to meet with one of the elder State men from the constituency for a meeting.

Hon. Dojoh who later went out with a political friend took permission from him to go and see a business friend at Adekaa, a settlement in Gboko.

“On his way back from Adekaa, around 10pm he noticed a car through the mirror driving so closely behind him, not being comfortable with the way the car was coming as if it wanted to block him, he increased his speed”

When the gunmen finally approached where he parked his car, they blocked his car with their vehicle and observing that there was no one inside the vehicle, they set the car ablaze and fled the scene.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Benue State Command , Catherine Anene, confirmed the incidence .

The PPRO further explained that Hon. Dajoh escaped unhurt but his vehicle was set ablaze
