The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has pledged to grow the domestic gas utlization to 4.5 Billion Cubit Feet (BCF).
The Group Managing Director, NNPC Mele Kyari expressed this at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, (ADIPEC) Virtual 2020 Strategic Conference held on Wednesday.
Speaking at the Conference, the GMD shared insights on “The Role of Gas and LNG in the Future Energy Mix.”
Kyar said “Nigeria is blessed with abundant Natural Gas resource –203Trillion Cubic Feet (TCF) of proven reserve with over 600TCF potential reserve.
“ Our objective is to grow the domestic utilization of NG & in the long term increase our investments in export projects such as LNG” —GMD
“We are growing domestic gas utilization to 4.5BCF through aggressive investment in infrastructure which will improve power generation, industrialization, etc
“We are also expanding the Nigeria LNG (through Train 7) from 22Million Metric Tonne Per Annum (mmtpa) to 30mmtpa.” —GMD
