G7 leaders take decisions over Ukraine, Russia war
The Group of 7 Leaders (G7), including US President Joe Biden, have vowed to continue to provide military equipment to Ukraine in the war against Russia.
The decision was taken in a virtual meeting with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday.
They reassured him that they will continue to also provide economic assistance “to help Ukraine secure its free and democratic future.”
They also promised to increase their financial aid to Ukraine “in the coming weeks,” in a statement after the meeting, CNN reports.
“To this end, we will pursue our ongoing military and defence assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, continue supporting Ukraine in defending its networks against cyber incidents, and expand our cooperation, including on information security,” the G7 said.
“We will continue to support Ukraine in increasing its economic and energy security,” the statement added.
