FUNAAB pledges support for FMC, Abeokuta’s proposed teaching hospital

The Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture Abe-okuta, FUNAAB, Prof. Felix Kolawole Salako has pledged that the university would partner the management of  Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta in its bid to establish a Federal University Teaching Hospital in Ogun State.

Professor Salako, made this pledge during his visit to the management of the hospital.

Prof.Salako lauded the robust relationship the university had built over the years with  management of the hospital promising to consolidate on this cordial relationship for a better working relationship.

He commended the hospital for its unquantifiable contributions to qualitative health care delivery in the country adding that ” this is the more reason we shall do everything possible as a university to collaborate with you and ensure that your dream of having a teaching hospital becomes a reality”.

Prof. Salako has therefore urged the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Adewale Musa Olomu and his medical team to remain dedicated and keep the flag flying in the quest for excellent service delivery.

Speaking at the occasion, Prof. Olomu disclosed that right from inception, it had been the dream of the hospital to establish a university teaching hospital and that 170 hectares of land is already acquired for the project.

Prof. Olomu explained that his administration was very serious and passionate about the commencement of this project and that very soon the acquired land would become a huge construction site.

He added that the importance of a teaching hospital in the field of medicine and provision of qualitative health care services could not be over emphasized pleading for the support of the authority of the university for the success of the project.
