Fulani herdsmen attack farm in Ogbomoso, leading to death and forcing family to flee

A farm belonging to Mr. Ajolayo Ezekiel Ogunsiyun in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was attacked by cattle herders, identified as Fulani herdsmen. It was reported that on January 5, 2024, the herdsmen allowed their cattle to graze on Mr. Ogunsiyun’s cassava farm, destroying several acres of crops. The incident also led to the death of Pastor Oluwasegun, who was killed when the herdsmen invaded his home.

It was further learned that Mr. Ogunsiyun’s residence has been attacked multiple times by suspected Fulani herdsmen. According to members of the community where he built his house, the herdsmen have been targeting him and his family, threatening their lives in an attempt to exact revenge. As a result, Mr. Ogunsiyun and his family fled for their safety.

A community source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that since the attack, the area has been in a state of unrest due to the constant pursuit of Mr. Ogunsiyun and his family by the herdsmen.
