Fuel/Naira scarcity: Ogun youths laud Gov Abiodun for distribution of 400,000 food items to residents

The Ogun State chapter of Nigerian Youth Congress has commended Gov Dapo Abiodun for his decision to distribute at least 400,000 food items to the residents of the state as a way of cushioning the effect of the current naira and fuel scarcity crisis.

Chairman of the Congress, Comrade Seyifunmi Afolabi gave this commendation over the weekend while briefing the press at Abeokuta, the state capital.

Afolabi commended the kind gesture of Gov. Abiodun describing the move as very apt and timely, going by the anger on the faces of Nigerians

He said “I wish to commend the effort of the Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for showing kindness, care, and empathy towards the good people of the Gateway State. It shows that he realizes the suffering of the people and the gesture he is putting forward is a further testament that the Governor truly knows where the shoe pinches his people”

He explained that the distribution of 400,000 food items through Social Investment officers across the 20 Local governments of is a good initiative from the governor that would no doubt provide great relief to the good people of the state especially the vulnerable ones.

The Ogun NYC Chairman recalled that during the time of COVID-19 Pandemic the Governor did same to cushion the effect of the Lockdown on people.

Comrade Afolabi pointed out that the Governor needs to be applauded for suspending his campaign activites due to the ugly situation in the country this week despite the fact that the elections are just around the corner.

He however called on officials that would be in charge of the food items to be God-fearing in the distribution by making sure the largese gets to it’s intended beneficiaries, not leaving out the Youths Constituency at all Local Levels of the State.

He urged Youths in Ogun State to embrace peace and dialogue as the Governor requested and not to be confrontational by destroying properties.

The Chairman called on all stake holders in the country to find a way out of the present situation in order to ease the continuous and underserved sufferings of the the people.
