The Nigeria Nation Petroleum corporation (NNPC) has said federal government doesn’t have in its plan to increase the price of fuel pump.
This was revealed by the Group General manager, Group public Affairs Division, NNPC Mr Garba Muhammad in Abuja through a press statement on Monday.
He said that NNPC had over 1.7 billion litres of petrol in stock, noting that Nigerians should not panic about any increase in the fuel price, scarcity of fuel especially throughout the festive period and beyond.
According to him, the country should be expecting more of the products daily over the coming weeks and months.
Also, the Nigeria Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) made a declaration last week that “NNPC is also not aware of any plans by government to cause an increase in pump price of petroleum.
Mr Muhammed said, “NNPC has engaged all stakeholders for the smooth supply and distribution of the products across the country, therefore, motorists and other consumers of petrol should maintain their regular pattern of the purchase of fuel without panic situation that could cause wrong signal around the country.”
