FRSC trains 35 personnel on traffic management

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, has organised capacity training for its personnel on road safety management.

Mr. Ahmed Umar, the state Sector Commander, while speaking at the workshop in Abeokuta on Friday, said 35 officers from the command benefitted from the training.

Umar said the essence of the training was to prevent accident on the road and to improve personnel capacity in road safety management.

He explained that the workshop, organised for FRSC local government station officers across the state, would further equip the officers with necessary skills and education.

The sector commander appealed to the benefitting officers to use the opportunity to learn new ideas on traffic management.

“The essence of the workshop is to further enlighten the staff on their responsibilities as expected in various local governments in the state to make them operate up to expectation when carrying out their duties.

“We want them to go to the grassroots and educate drivers at the parks, schools, Churches and Mosques on how to prevent road traffic crashes,” he said.

The FRSC boss urged the officers to imbibe new ideas and knowledge in order to ensure effective service delivery to the motoring public.

Umar urged the officers to continue to ensure discipline on the highways and also put an end to the menace of dangerous driving and overloading.
