FRSC receives recertification in quality management standards for road safety administration
By Matthew Denis
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has successfully fulfilled all requirements set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been recertified for the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standards in Road Safety Administration and Traffic Management by the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON).
A statement issued on Wednesday by Olusegun Ogungbemide, Corps Public Education Officer, confirmed the recertification following a successful audit of the FRSC’s processes and procedures by system auditors from the Standards Organization of Nigeria, alongside other mandatory activities required for recertification.
This achievement marks the fourth time the FRSC has received this recognition. The Corps was first certified on March 26, 2013, under ISO 9001:2008, before transitioning to the ISO 9001:2015 standards on January 16, 2016. It was subsequently recertified in 2019, 2022, and now in 2025, having consistently met all necessary requirements.
Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, in a statement, celebrated this milestone, saying, “As the first and only law enforcement agency in Africa to achieve this rare feat, this recertification is a testament to the Corps’ commitment to excellence in all aspects of its operations and service delivery.”
He commended the entire workforce for their contributions to achieving the recertification, emphasizing that it reflects professionalism, well-coordinated work processes, and high-quality service delivery.
The Corps Marshal assured the motoring public that the FRSC would sustain this certification through continued productivity, professionalism, and effective service delivery.
