FRSC appoints new Sector Commander in Kogi
Mr Kumar Tsukwam officially took over as the new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi on Tuesday, assuming his role in Lokoja.
Tsukwam, the 27th person to hold this position, replaces Mr Samuel Oyedeji, who retired from service.
Addressing the staff and Special Marshals, Tsukwam underscored the importance of improving service delivery. He called on them to show renewed commitment and support towards achieving the FRSC’s vision.
“I am here to guide the operations of this Command, and I urgently need your collaboration, dedication, and teamwork to achieve our shared goals,” Tsukwam stated.
He promised to strengthen road safety education through various media engagements, Youth Safety Education (YSE) programs, and other methods to ensure the public understands road safety’s significance.
“Knowledge is key in shifting attitudes, and we will focus on cracking down on major offenses and reducing mixed-loading on Kogi’s roads,” he added.
Tsukwam also appealed to Kogi residents and road users to continue their compliance with traffic laws, warning that the command would take firm action against violators to create a safer driving environment and lower road traffic accidents in the state.
