Four men arraigned for alleged assault in Lagos

Four young men were arraigned before Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ejiro Kubeinje in Lagos on charges of conspiracy, assault, and willful damage.

The accused are Mudashiru Ibrahim, John Agidingbi, Moshood Usman, and Thankgod Simon, all aged 21.

The defendants, whose addresses remain undisclosed, were accused of cutting the right shoulder of another man in an incident that occurred on March 9 at Oko-oba, Orile Agege in Lagos State.

During the court proceedings, the defendants entered pleas of not guilty to the charges leveled against them. The prosecutor, SP Kehinde Ajayi, outlined the allegations, emphasising the seriousness of the offenses committed by the accused individuals.

The prosecutor alleged that the defendants assaulted one Mr Babatunde Yusuf by using a cutlass to cut his right shoulder and inflicting injuries on other parts of his body.

“The defendants damaged security lighting, a snooker board and some tables, property of Mr Jimoh Fatai,” Ajayi added.

According to him, the offences contravene Section 411, 173 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ejiro Kubeinje, granted each of the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.

Kubeinje adjourned the case until April 17 for mention.
