Foundation to lift over 36,000 smallholder farmers

Plans are underway to empower over 36,000 smallholder youths farmers across the country from 2022-2030.

The Vice President, Candle Light City Foundation (CALICIF), Mrs. Immaculate Asongwe who disclosed this at a conference organised in the University of Lagos, tagged: ‘CALICIF Youth International Skills Acquisition/Empowerment Development 2021, noted that the strategic plan of action of the foundation will provide employment, empowerment and entrepreneurship to 36,000 youths in Nigeria.

To achieve this vision, the President, CALICIF, Bishop Edwin Asongwe pointed out that the foundation is collaborating with both local and foreign partners for funding.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Abisola Olusanya who was represented by Director, Fisheries, Mr Emmanuel Audu said in alignment with what CALICIF is doing, Lagos State govt. focuses on training and empowerment of women and youths by involving them in agricultural production.
