Forum restates commitment to quality education in Kano State

The Forum of Heads of Tertiary Institutions in Kano State, on Monday reiterated commitment towards improving standard of education in the state.

Prof. Shehu Musa, the Leader  of the Forum, stated Musa this during a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor, Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku.

Musa, who is also the Vice Chancellor,  Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, said the purpose of the forum was to contribute towards reinvigorating the tertiary education.

He said the visit was also to strengthen relationship with the university in producing quality graduates in  the state.

“I want to assure you that you got a dedicated and committed, who I believe will take the institution to a higher level.

“I also call on you to give the new VC all the necessary support to deliver the responsibility bestowed on him.” Shehu charged the university community.

He noted that the new VC during his four-year tenure as the Rector, Kano State Polytechnic has moved the institution to a greater height.

Musa pledged continued support to the new VC to enable him to succeed during his tenure, saying: “Your success is ultimately our success.”

Also speaking, Tukur commended the forum for the visit, and expressed determination to collaborate to address problems of common interest.

Tukur recounted that during his sojourn as the secretary of the forum, a lot of educatiknal challenges were addressed through unity of purpose.

“I will do everything possible to ensure that we bring the best out of our tertiary institutions in Kano State.

“I commend Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje for giving me the opportunity to serve for four and half years as Rector of the polytechnic and now another mandate to serve as VC,” he said.

Atiku sought for the support of staff and students of the institution to move it forward.
