The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, on Tuesday, hosted a delegation from the Internal Revenue Monitoring Committee (IRMC), a sub-committee of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), at the FIRS Headquarters in Abuja.
During his opening remark, Dr. Adedeji emphasised the critical importance of sustained collaboration between RMAFC and FIRS, noting that such synergy contributes significantly to strengthening Nigeria’s revenue generation framework and, by extension, the national economy.
“As revenue-generating institutions, our shared responsibility is to ensure optimal revenue performance for national development. This partnership is essential to aligning our strategies and closing existing gaps,” he stated.
As part of the engagement, Dr. Adedeji formally inaugurated the FIRS Sub-Technical Committee on RMAFC.
The committee, which comprised members from both RMAFC and FIRS management teams, is expected to enhance technical cooperation, promote data sharing, and improve operational alignment between the two agencies.
The visit by the IRMC delegation underscored ongoing efforts to promote accountability, transparency, and efficiency in revenue monitoring and mobilization across all levels of government.
