Firm to support youth empowerment
As Lonadek Global Services, a certified Engineering, Technology and Information Management Company marks its 30th anniversary this week, its Principal Consultant, Dr. Ibilola Amao, said the firm would remain committed to youth and girl-child empowerment.
Beyond its core business of creating value and enhancing performance through domiciliation, domestication and democratisation of technology in the engineering field, Mrs. Amao said through its Youth Empowerment and Restoration Initiative Corporate Social Responsibility project, Lonadek had exposed over 100,000 secondary school pupils to career counseling and industry awareness workshops, young transformer /innovators science project competitions, summer camps, and annual essay competitions and would continue to do so.
“We have been very fortunate to work with our local and international partners on various projects that have impacted the engineering and technology sectors. Our Consultancy and Training activities have touched so many lives directly and indirectly. Commencing with National Engineering and Technical Company Limited (NETCO) in 1992, we trained 67 young engineers in the use of Computer Aided Design and Draughting (CADD) systems to deliver the Shell Petroleum Development Company (34 Flowstations Safety Upgrade Project) the Chevron Nigeria Limited (Escravos Gas Project Phase I).
“We will continue to give our best to career counselling, industry awareness and youth empowerment. Our commitment to grassroots education, STEM teacher and career counsellor upskilling will remain a part of our DNA,” she said.
Amao also said Lonadek had promoted Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education through the Cedar STEM and Entrepreneurship Hub, which holds empowerment projects for youths , girls in STEM, women in engineering, and young professionals.
