Fidelity bank expands fight against hunger with food bank outreach in Eti-Osa

To address food insecurity and support vulnerable communities, Fidelity Bank Plc has extended its Fidelity Food Bank programme to Eti-Osa Local Government Area in Lagos.

The initiative, part of the bank’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, saw the distribution of food packs to residents, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to alleviating hunger and poverty across Nigeria.

The distribution event, held at Fidelity Bank’s corporate head office in Lagos, was graced by the bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, who was represented by the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Mr. Adebayo Adeyinka.

Speaking on behalf of the bank, Mr. Adeyinka highlighted the importance of the Fidelity Food Bank initiative as part of the bank’s dedication to giving back to society.

“We are committed to extending our CSR activities in support of the federal government’s efforts to improve the lives of individuals and organisations. The Fidelity Food Bank is one way we are addressing the critical issue of food insecurity and hunger in our society.

“This initiative was conceptualised over a year ago by Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, and it aims to tackle hunger and provide relief to vulnerable groups across the 36 states of Nigeria.

“Working with faith-based institutions and charity organisations, we distribute food packs on a monthly basis to communities across the country as we aim to improve food security and alleviate poverty on a national scale,” Adeyinka said.

However, Mrs. Victoria Olubiyo, representing the beneficiaries, expressed her gratitude to the bank for its outreach efforts and encouraged other corporate organizations to follow suit.

She highlighted Fidelity Bank’s ongoing support for the community, particularly by keeping its Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) consistently stocked with cash.
