FG rewards 40 Civil Servants for Creativity, professionalism, employee teamwork, others

In a bid to enhance hardwork, creativity, professionalism and teamwork in the civil service cadet, the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-govermental Affairs on Thursday rewarded 40 Civil Servants within the various Categories.

 

The categories are Ministerial Award, Departmental Award, Recognition of Retirees, Posthumous Recognition, Recognition of Sports Medalists and Recognition for Outstanding Performance.

 

While delivering the Keynote Address, the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-govermental Affairs, Sen George Akume said ” we’re gathered here to recognize and celebrate Staff of the ministry who have Distinguished themselves in various Categories.

 

” We’re here to motivate them as it’s a vital aspect of any Organization. It is a type of remuneration that can psychologically encourage employees to focus and perform better in their job.

 

” Tonight Award recipients, I congratulate you the outstanding achievements in various Categories as the honor bestowed on you today is an indication that the Ministry recognize and appreciate your effort and I tasks you to do more for greater recognition.

 

The Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan lauded the gesture stating that the federal government instituted this mechanism to ensure that hardworking and committed civil servants are fairly and timely appreciated and rewarded while serving.

 

The HOS who was represented by one of the Permanent Secretaries under her office, Dr. Ngozi Onwudiwe stressed that the event is targeted at improving productivity as well as attracting, nurturing and retaining the best employees within the service.

 

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-govermental Affairs, Mrs. Ibiene Patricia Roberts while commending the awardees tasked other employees to redouble their efforts and commitment as to be graciously rewarded someday.

 

According to her the ministry last year has executed some projects like the Development and Launched of Ministry’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Hosting of the National Honours Award’, introduction of health and Well-being Programme for staff, acquisition and renovation of additional office space, purchase of vehicles to ease staff movement to work among others.

 

Some of the top awardees were Anodere Osundu Kevin who bagged Honourable Minister’s heroic Award, Engr. Sunday Ojonimi Agada Creativity and Innovation award.

 

Those who bagged Permanent Secretary’s award for Excellence were Mandal Francis Martin, John Emmanuel, Judith Ogoma Ukonu and Adesanya Rafiu.

 

While Abdullahi Umar Fatima, Etuh David Joshua and Ibo Olusola Samson were bestowed with Ethics and Professionalism Award.
