FG constitutes Governing Council of UNIPORT, others

The Federal Government has reconstituted the University of Port Harcourt Governing Council, years after it was dissolved,thereby ending the era of principal positions being held on acting  capacity in the University.This will no doubt paveway for the appointment of a substantive Vice Chancellor for the University, which according to ASUU will ensure effective teaching and learning,as well as general smooth running of the University.

In line with that,Sen Andrew Uchendu representing South South was appointed Chairman,Governing Council.

Other members are; Mr Kolo Uzamat, South-West; Cdre. D. T. Hinga, member North-Central; Mohammed Musa Makarfi, North-West and Barr. Ahmed Al-Mustapha, North-East

The FG also reconstituted The University of Lagos Governing Council with  Chief (Dr)Lanre Tejuosho as the Chairman and representing South-West in the Council.

Other members are; Dr Aminu Ahmed, North-West; Dr Uro Gardner, South-South; Chief Chinedu Adindi, South-East and Comrade Mustafa Salihu, representing North East.

Other appointments are;Chief Victor Giadom,Board member, Maritime University, Okerenkoko,Barr. Isaac Abbot Ogbobula, Chairman Governing Council of Federal Polytechnic Bauchi,Dr Lawrence Chuku, member,Governing Council Waziri Umar Polytechnic Birnin Kebbi and Barr Kingsley Wali, member Governing Council Auchi Polytechnic,Edo State.

Others are;

Dr Lebatam Ndegwe, Member Governing Council Kaduna Polytechnic,

Barr. Reginald Ukwuoma, Member Governing Council Federal College of Education , Kano.

Mrs. Dabota Jumbo, Member Governing Council Federal College of Education Yola, Adamawa.
