FG approves N55.9bn for Dutse Water Projects

The Federal Government has approved a substantial budget of N55.9 billion for the Dutse Great Water Project, a development that has been warmly welcomed by the Dutse Emirate Progressive Forum.
During a condolence visit to Governor Malam Umar Namadi, the forum’s president, Alh Khadi Isah Gantsa, praised the governor for his efforts in realizing this critical water initiative.
Gantsa expressed the community’s optimism regarding the project, stating, “The people of Dutse Emirate are hopeful about Governor Namadi’s progress, particularly concerning the Dutse Great Water Project, which we trust will soon become a reality.”
In a show of solidarity, Gantsa donated N2 million to assist victims of a recent fire disaster in Majiya village, Taura Local Government.
He requested that the state government provide an official account for the donation to ensure proper allocation to those affected.
Governor Namadi commended the forum for their generous contribution and emphasized that such support from community leaders encourages the government to facilitate assistance for disaster victims.
On the Dutse water project, the governor highlighted the federal government’s commitment, noting, “We have succeeded in securing approval for the project, which is a significant step forward.”
He confirmed that the state has already received N50 billion from the federal government, with an additional N25 billion promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in future budgets to expedite the work.
The governor also mentioned the Birnin Kudu Water Project, awarded at a cost of N800 million, aimed at addressing long-standing water shortages in the area.
He assured the community that both projects would be completed in a timely manner, significantly improving water access in the region.
