Fear grips residents in Ogun as cultists strike again, kill one

Residents of Gasline, Ijoko area, in Adodo/Ota, Ogun State have further been plunged into fear as suspected cultists said to be of Aiye confraternity on Monday evening struck again killing one Segun Lateef Anthony known as Ifa London in a cold blood.

Information gathered revealed that Ifa London, who belonged to a rival cult group, Eiye confraternity lives with his parents at No 19, Olagunju street of Gasline area in Ijoko, Ogun State.

Eyewitnesses confirmed Ifa London was gunned down in front of Golden Mama hotel close to Gasline bus stop, Ijoko road while he was running for his life, after which he was macheted, losing a lot of blood on the spot.

According to a close relative (name withheld) of the deceased, “Before he met his death in the hand of the Aiye confraternity, I gave him sum of N3,000 on Saturday, just to flee from the area, as there was information around that his opponent members were looking for him to kill. But he didn’t take the advice and leave the environment for a while.”

It was gathered that, a gang of eight members of Aiye confraternity from Ijoko area came with three double barrel guns and axes to carry out the attack on him.

According to eyewitnesses around, Ifa London was first shot in the head before they macheted him around the head region.

His opponent members were said to be between the age of 16, 17 and 18 years of age in their group. And after killing him, they left by foot down to their destination.

Further information revealed to us by an eyewitness that the opponent members had wanted to carry out the attack on him on Sunday by tracing his movement from gasline area down to Esuyago street along gasline, but due to quick response of the Team of Police men  was voided when the chairman of the CDA of the area alerted the nearest police station earlier.

It was an unfortunate evening as the deceased is said to be under 30 when he met his death yesterday evening around 6pm.
