First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has expanded its presence by opening a new branch in Ogbomoso, a move aimed at enhancing financial inclusion and driving economic development. The branch, situated along the Ogbomoso-Ilorin Road, was officially inaugurated on 12 March in a ceremony attended by local dignitaries.

During the event, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomoso, welcomed the bank’s establishment, noting that its presence would contribute to the growth of local businesses.

“This marks a significant milestone for our town. We expect FCMB’s innovative approach to provide our citizens and entrepreneurs with essential financial services and support, helping us achieve our 25-year development vision. We are eager to work alongside FCMB and hope to see additional branches in Ogbomoso, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship,” he stated.

Honourable Seun Ojo, Chairman of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, expressed similar views. He acknowledged FCMB’s presence as an important step towards expanding financial access across Ogbomoso and encouraged the bank to extend its reach to more communities to strengthen local economies.

The Managing Director of First City Monument Bank, Mrs Yemisi Edun, represented by the Bank’s National Head of Sales, Mr Emmanuel Comla, reaffirmed FCMB’s commitment to inclusive growth.

She stated, “We are delighted to invest in Ogbomoso’s future. This city is known for its industrious spirit. Under Kabiyesi Olaoye’s leadership, Ogbomoso has set out a clear 25-year development plan, and we are proud to contribute to that vision. While digital banking is revolutionising the industry, physical branches remain crucial in ensuring access for all and providing direct support to the community. This new branch will stimulate growth by unlocking opportunities and building strong partnerships. We are here to grow alongside you.”

The bank’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, Mr Ademola Idowu, revealed that the branch is equipped with advanced banking technology and operates on renewable energy. He underscored its role in supporting business and trade expansion in Ogbomoso and surrounding areas.
