Following Ayodele Fayose’s statement that he will ensure that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is jailed when he becomes Nigeria’s President, a Yoruba socio-cultural group known as Yoruba Youth Forum, YYF, has described the former Ekiti Governor as a man who is still suffering from ‘natural immaturity’ despite passing the age of youthful exuberance.
The Group reacting to Fayose’s statement in a press release by its President-General, Comrade Abiodun Bolarinwa said that the former Ekiti state Governor will continue to chase shadow of Ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo and that his ambition to become Nigeria’s President will not see the light of the day.
“Ordinarily, we would not have reacted to Fayose’s careless postulations if not for the purpose of setting the record straight. People of questionable character like Fayose may never see anything good in the person of Elder statesman like Chief Obasanjo who has earned the respect of world leaders by being very consistent.”
Speaking further, the group challenged Fayose to make public the alleged corruption evidence he has against Chief Obasanjo, failure of which the group will institute legal action of defamation of character against him.
“It is so sad that Fayose who will be clocking 60 by November this year is still suffering from ‘natural immaturity’. People like Fayose will never value the integrity of Obasanjo because of immorality embedded in him. Everyone knows that the crime OBJ committed against Fayose was because he advised him against deceiving people with his Integrated Poultry Scheme in which over N1.4 billion was mismanaged in 2005. When Fayose invited former President Olusegun Obasanjo to commission his poultry, OBJ asked if his chickens do not pass waste as there was no smell usually associated with poultry in Fayose’s poultry at Afao Ekiti.
The Group further condemned Fayose for calling for the arrest of OBJ for ‘hate speech,’ saying that if there is anybody in Nigeria that has ever committed an offence of hate speech, it is Fayose himself because according to the group there are many evidences to that effect.
Also speaking on the reactions to OBJ’s condolence message on late Buruku Kashamu; the Group specifically condemned the statements of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ayodele Fayose who sent verbal attacks on the Nation’s former President.
“It is so sad that in this part of the world, politicians use every available opportunity at their disposals to score cheap political points. The reactions of both Asiwaju Tinubu and Mr. Fayose over OBJ’s condolence message on the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu is an indication that both Tinubu and Fayose still harbor hatred for OBJ and will use every available opportunity to show it. OBJ was not mocking Kashamu in his condolence message but was just trying to tell all those still living should learn from the mistake Kashamu made while alive.
Speaking further, the Group accused both Tinubu and Fayose of playing politics with the death of Buruji Kashamu who they never even liked while alive.
“It is very surprising that the duo of Asiwaju Tinubu and Ayodele Fayose could now come out to condemn OBJ for making a statement which is a moral lesson on the death of Senator Kashamu.”
The Group also accused Tinubu and Fayose of trying to play dirty politics with the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu.
“Both Tinubu and Fayose are birds of a feather. We know them, for who they are. They’re opportunists who take advantage of every situation to advance their selfish interest,” the statement read.
