Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has congratulated Prince Tsola Emiko, on his coronation as the 21st Olu of Warri, charging him to carry all his subjects along to a new era of peace, progress and stability.
Dr Fayemi in a statement made available to Nigerian NewsDirect by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, rejoiced with the new monarch on his emergence after a keenly contested but peaceful selection; adding that the young monarch must always see himself as the principal custodian of the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Warri kingdom.
The Governor advised the new traditional ruler to utilise his youthful vigour and extensive contact as well as working with relevant institutions in ensuring human capital development of the people and socio- economic and physical development of the town.
The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum urged the new monarch to always lend his voice to national discourse and stand for justice and fairness in his contributions to the unity and development of Nigeria.
Fayemi prayed God to give the royal father wisdom to rule his people, long life, good health and a peaceful and purposeful reign.
“On behalf of the Government and good people of Ekiti State, I congratulate Prince Tsola Emiko as he ascends the revered throne of his great ancestors. Leadership is sacrifice, I therefore urge the new traditional ruler to see himself as father to all.
“I urge him to carry all his subjects along to a glorious era of peace and progress in Warri. In doing so, it will be easier to fast track the socio-economic development of the people and the kingdom.
“It is my prayer that God Almighty will grant him immense wisdom and courage required to lead the people to further progress and greater prosperity. I wish the new monarch a long and successful reign and service to the people and the country as a whole,” Fayemi said.
