Family cries out for their missing daughter

A man identified as Daniel has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a sex worker to death in a brothel in Agbor, Delta State.

The incident occurred on Friday night, October 11, 2024, after an argument over the agreed price for her services.

According to an eyewitness, Daniel, a regular customer at the brothel, Apple Inn, refused to pay the agreed price, claiming that the sex worker denied him ejaculation during their encounter.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife and dragged it downward.

The eyewitness said, “While the sex worker was insisting that he must pay the complete amount as agreed, stressing that he was hard on her, the suspect picked a knife, possibly from the sex worker’s kitchen, stabbed her and dragged the knife downward.”

The police were alerted, and Daniel was arrested after a distress call by some residents. The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident, stating that the police were investigating the matter.

“We are investigating the incident, and the suspect is in our custody,” Edafe said. This incident highlights the dangers faced by sex workers in Nigeria and the need for increased protection and support for this vulnerable group.
