The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) says sustaining efficient service delivery at Ibadan airport remains a priority of the organisation.
The Ibadan Airport Manager, Mrs Tega Ayenuiro, declared this on Monday while receiving a donation of a firefighting truck from the Oyo state government.
Reports said that the donation was done at the Government House, Agodi in Ibadan.
Ayenuiro said the donation of the fire truck would go a long way in enhancing the operations at the airport.
“The donation of the truck is a boost to FAAN and the country at large.
“For us to have this new fire truck is just going to enhance operations at the airport; so, we are very grateful to the Oyo state government for the donation,” she stated.
The Commissioner for Public Works and Infrastructure, Prof. Daud Sangodoyin, handed over the keys of the truck to Ayenuiro, on behalf of Gov. Seyi Makinde.
Sangodoyin said the donation was part of the state government’s effort to drive the state economy through transport, asserting that air transport is one of the means of transportation.
“The wish of Gov Seyi Makinde administration is to make Ibadan airport an international one.
“To make it happen, all the equipment that are necessary for its operations have to be on ground and we are happy to be partners in progress with FAAN.
“So, this brand new fire truck is donated to FAAN for good and efficient service delivery.” Sangodoyin stated
