Managing director FAAN, Olubunmi Kuku charges newly graduated Aviation Security personnel to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in executing their function.

Kuku made this known at the induction of STP 123 Basic Course for 201 AVSEC cadets at the Bridge Institute in Lagos.

According to her, the ceremony marks a significant milestone and will aid towards bolstering the nation’s aviation security. Kuku also described the induction as one of FAAN’s strategic responses to the increase in volume of passengers using the airports.

She said the eight weeks STP 123 Course is a residential training programme designed to help integrate new Cadets into the Civil Aviation Industry. Similarly, the course is designed to implement, monitor and enforce Aviation Security measures proactively in accordance with locally approved regulations.

“These new Cadets underwent Security Awareness Course, Airport Emergency Response Procedure Training and Leadership Training to improve their leadership skills. They also underwent physical training to equip them for long hours. All these are to ensure we offer our darling customers the best service possible,” the FAAN MD said.

Speaking earlier, Cadet Commandant, Mr. Olufemi Apata says the training aims to equip the participants for the task of national gatekeeping

He said at a time of national security challenges, such as terrorism, banditry, insurgency, kidnapping etc, the Aviation Security STP 123 Training programme could not have come at a better time
