Ex-Osun Deputy Governor Alabi to grace Bisi Akande’s Birthday Symposium

The immediate-past governor of Osun State, Mr. Bennedict Alabi, has been invited to the maiden edition of Bisi Akande Leadership Symposium as a Special Guest of Honour.

According to the convener of the programme, Mr. Opeyemi Oye-Oke, the event is in commemoration of the 84th birthday anniversary of Chief Bisi Akande.

Oye-Oke stated that the lecture with the theme, ‘Visionary Leadership: A Panacea for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Nigeria’, is in the acknowledgement of the democratic contributions of Chief Akande to the development of Osun State in particular and Nigeria in general.

In the convener’s words: “This year’s edition of the symposium is to celebrate and honour our dear father, Chief Abdulkareem Bamidele Adebisi Akande, in commemoration of his 84th birthday anniversary.

“With this, we are celebrating his exceptional leadership and his commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in Nigeria, and to officially unveil an initiative to incubate the next generation of leaders.

“The Symposium is a platform for young people to connect and engage in creating transgenerational change in Nigeria alongside with an exceptional leader like you”, Oye-Oke stated.

He explained further that the event is slated for Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Banquet Hall, Chief Bisi Akande’s Residence, Ila-Orangun, Osun State, at 3pm.

Akande was the governor of Osun State between 1999 and 2003, former Acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an illustrious and respectable Yoruba leader.
