Ex-LCC staff narrowly escapes death amidst presidential election in Lagos

A man identified as Olasunkanmi Moruff Ola has been reported missing after he narrowly escaped being lynched by a mob during the last presidential election in Lagos State.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that the ex-Lekki Concession Company (LCC) Staff was attacked by the supporters of the opposition parties to Bola Tinubu whom was alleged to be owner of Lekki Concession Company and was believed to be the mastermind of the shooting at protesters against high-handedness of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives at Lekki tollgate on the  20th of October, 2020.

According to an eyewitness who prefers to remain anonymous, “Moruff was badly beaten with stones and sticks. They even wanted to burn him alive because they poured petrol on him and put a tire on his neck”.

“I think someone called the police. That was how they saved him from the angry mob. I later heard that he was taken to a hospital for treatment, but he ran away from the hospital”.

Meanwhile, a relative, who also spoke on the condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that Moruff had faced several harassments following the End SARS protest that took place at Lekki Toll Gate, where he worked as a toll collector and was popular.
