Every Commandment of Scriptures is for our Benefit!
Welcome to another impactful week! I hope you were blessed by last week teaching. This week, we shall focus on: Every Commandment of Scripture is for our Benefit!
From Scriptures, we understand that every commandment is absolutely for our benefit. As it is written, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17). There is nothing God ever asked us to do that is to His advantage. He said, And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth (Deuteronomy 28:1). God is not looking for who to take advantage of, He is looking for who to bless. Please understand that God does not need us for anything, we need Him for everything. He is the fountain of all opportunities and He has nothing to benefit from anybody.
Every commandment of scripture is for our benefit, but obedience is our access to such benefit (Job 36:11; John 2:5). For instance, commitment to Kingdom advancement endeavours brings us into favour with God and men(Matthew 6:33; Acts 2:46-47). For instance, praying for the needs of others provokes God to meet our own needs. Concerning Job, the Bible says,And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10). Kingdom advancement prayers provoke strange order of favours as in the case of Nehemiah. He fasted for certain days and cried to God for the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem(Nehemiah 1:4-11). As a result, he secured favour; within fifty-two days, the walls were built and he was made the governor (Nehemiah 2:8, 5:14). Kingdom addicts never ran out of favour. If we are genuinely committed to the advancement, enlargement and expansion of His Kingdom, we will never run out of favour.Thus, the Kingdom advancement commandment is to bring us into realms of open and speaking rewards; that is, rewards that speaks. As it is written, But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly (Matthew 6:6).So, commitment to Kingdom advancement prayers brings us to realms of open rewards with God(Matthew 6:17-18).
In conclusion, Kingdom focus prayers guarantees a glorious future and always lead to the rise of giants(Jeremiah 30:19-21; Nehemiah 5:14).Therefore, it is obedience that will take us to a place where a lifetime of labour can never take us to. However, you must be born again. If you are not, this is an opportunity to do so. Simply say the following prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Thank You Jesus for saving me! Now, I know I am born again!
