Africa’s premiere payment solution provider has dismissed claims by the House Committee on Customs and Excise duties over the failure of its Managing Director to appear before the house of representatives.
Leke Abejide, Chairman of the committee had earlier accused the payment processor of an alleged non-remittance of customs duties to the federal government but the organization in a press statement made available to Nigerian NewsDirect, swiftly clarified that “it did not, at any time, collect excise duties on behalf Nigerian Customs Service (NSC), as alluded by the Chairman of the House Investigating Committee,” and that, “there was no way our organization would have colluded with some banks to cheat the Nigeria Customs Service as reported in the Cable News publication.”
“We will also like to categorically state that we did not receive any invitation from the House Committee to appear before it with respect to the claim.
