Equities market rises by 0.34%

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), closed the week  marginally on a positive note, All Shares Index gained further by 180.7 absolute points.

All Share Index rose by 180.7 points to represent an increase of 0.30 per cent to close trade at 53,098.46 index points from 52,917.76 index points it closed trade on Thursday.

Specifically, the overall market capitalisation value gained N97 billion to close trade at N28.625 trillion on Friday last trading day from N28.528 trillion it closed trade on Thursday.

The market sentiments as measured by market breadth was positive as NNFM led 29 gainers compared to champion breweries that led 23 decliners.

The trade volume dropped by 40 per cent to 303.484 million units it closed the week from 426.018 million units worth N3.574 billion, exchange in 7,019 deals.

On Friday, NNFM was recorded as the best advancer which moved up by 9.94 per cent or 0.90 kobo increased to close trade at N9.95 per share, Mcnichols which recorded as the second best gainer rose by 0.12 kobo representing 9.84 per cent increased to close trade at N1.34 per share. NEIMETH pharmaceutical industry grew by 0.17 kobo or 9.71 per cent increased to close trade at N1.92 per share.

Transcohot went up by 9.96 per cent or 0.43 kobo increased to close trade at N4.88 per share and Royalex Exchange gained 9.29 per cent or 0.13 kobo increased to close trade at N1.53 kobo

At close of week on Friday, Champion Breweries was recorded as the overall decliners which declined by 0.48 kobo representing 9.90 per cent to close trade at N4.37 per share, International breweries down by 9.74 per cent or 0.95 kobo to close trade at N8.80 per share.

Academy Press was recorded as the best decliner which depreciated by 0.16 kobo or 9.58 per cent to close trade at N1.51 per share, Triple G was recorded as the fourth most loser dipped by 0.09 kobo to represent 9.38 per cent to close trade at N0.87 per share and Regalins which recorded as the last fifth loser dropped by 0.02 kobo to close trade at N0.29 per share.

At close of trade on Friday the last trading day, Champion Breweries topped the activity chart which traded 37.925 million shares valued at N48.188 million, followed by Jaizbank which transacted 32.310 million shares worth N29.025 million, while Wapco transacted 14.948 million shares valued at N475.194 million.

Guaranty Trust Holding Company 13.962 million shares worth N333.357 million and Oando plc traded 13.008 million shares valued at N77.262 million.

Transcorp topped in terms of volume, while Wapco topped in terms of value.
