Equities market gains 0.30%

The stock market on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed on positive note for the fourth day of the week, All Shares Index Index  appreciated by 143.07 basis points.

Precisely, All Shares Index (ASI ) inched weight by 143.07 basis points or 0.30 per cent to close trade at 47,510.38 basis points. Meanwhile overall market capital capitalisation value gained N77 billion to close trade N25.613 trillion from N25.536 trillion  it closed on Wednesday.

The price market was driven by price appreciation in large and medium capitalised stocks amongst are Fidelity Bank, Sterling Bank, Linkage Assurance and 18 others.

The stock market sentiments, as measured       by market breadth was positive as 21 stocks gained while 17  Stocks constituted the losers.

The total trade volume declined yesterday by 1.7 per cent. From 391,889,051 million units it closed trade on Wednesday to 385,182,496 million units it closed trade yesterday.

On the price movement table, SFSREIT gained 7 kobo increased to close trade at N 77 per share. Followed by UPDC recorded as the second best gainer which rose by  0.11 kobo or 7.38 per cent increased to close trade at N1.60 per share, while CHAMS rose by 7.32 per cent or 0.06 kobo increased to close trade at N0.88 per share.

Linkage Assurance appreciated by 0.01 kobo increased to close trade at 0.21 per share and lastly, Mansard which recorded as the last fifth gainer grew by 0.02 kobo or 4.08 per cent increased to close trade at N0.51 per share.

On the other hand, Dangote Sugar recorded as the highest loser went down by 5.09 per cent or 0.85 kobo to close trade at N15.85 per share, RTBRISCOE dropped by 0.03 kobo or 5 per cent to close at N0.57 per share.

AFRIPRUD was recorded as the third highest loser declined by 0.03 kobo to close trade at 4.76 per cent while UBN depreciated by  0.04 kobo to close at N6 per share and Cutix lost 1.64 per cent to close trade at N2.40 per share.

On the volume and value table, transaction in the shares of Fidelity Bank topped the activity chart which traded 74.813 million shares worth N282.517 million.

Followed by Sterling Bank which transacted 45.533 million shares valued at N64.895 million, Accesscorp traded 33.865 million shares worth N347.250 million.

Zenith Bank traded 31.090 million shares worth N777.993 million, Afrinsure traded 26.656 million shares worth N5.331 million.
