EPL: You deserve longer ban, bigger fine – Agbonlahor slams Liverpool coach, Klopp
Former Aston Villa captain, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has hit out at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, insisting that the German deserved a much heavier punishment than the one he was handed by the Football Association, FA, for his comments about referee Paul Tierney.
Klopp was recently given a two-match suspension and fined £75,000 by the FA for his improper conduct during Liverpool’s 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on April 30.
He will be in the stands on Saturday for Liverpool’s final home fixture against Aston Villa, but the second game of the ban has been suspended until the end of the 2023/24 season and will only be served if he breaches FA rule E3 over the course of the next 12 months.
Agbonlahor said Klopp deserved a longer ban and a bigger fine.
He said, “You can’t do that. The fourth official has no say in the game.
“He doesn’t deserve that treatment from Jurgen Klopp. I think he deserves a longer ban and a bigger fine.”
