EPL: Why we cannot beat Chelsea 7-0 – Guardiola reflects on 4-4 draw

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has said it is “wrong” to have expected his team to hand Chelsea a heavy defeat.

Guardiola, reflecting on the 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, claimed that “everyone wants to beat us”.

He, however, applauded his players for not letting the standards drop since they won the Treble last season.

We are top of the league and qualified in the Champions League.

“From where we have come from [last season], when you can have the tendency to be more soft, it is the complete opposite. It hasn’t happened.

“If you expect to come here and win 7-0, you are wrong. Everyone wants to beat us. You say there is nothing to lose for them because if Chelsea lose to City, it’s normal, City are a fantastic team,” Guardiola said.
