Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has revealed that he took off Lisandro Martinez during the halftime of their 1-0 victory over Wolves due to injury.
Ten Hag, however, remains hopeful that the defender will not be out for too long.
Martinez endured a difficult opening 45 minutes at Old Trafford on Monday and was booked for a reckless tackle on Pedro Neto.
Ten Hag, speaking after the game, insisted that Martinez’s substitution had nothing to do with protecting the Argentine from a potential red card.
He explained: “A little problem on his ankle, tendon.
“We’ll see but I don’t think it’s a big deal. We’ll see how he is this week.
