EPL: Southampton sacks manager Hasenhuttl after 4-1 to Newcastle
Southampton has become the next Premier League club to sack their manager this season
The club announced the dismissal of Ralph Hasenhuttl on Monday following their defeat to Newcastle over the weekend.
Hasenbutti has spent four years at the club after joining in December 2018 but the 2022-23 season has started on a very poor note for the Saints.
They were beaten 4-1 by high-flying Newcastle United on Sunday, leaving them 18th in the Premier League table.
It also meant that they lost 8 of their first 14 games of the campaign, which have seen them concede 24 goals and score just 12.
A club statement read in part, “Southampton Football Club can confirm it has parted company with Men’s First Team Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
“First Team Assistant Coach Richard Kitzbichler has also today left the club.”
