EPL: Rio Ferdinand advises another Man Utd player to leave after Ronaldo’s exit

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has urged current captain Harry Maguire to leave the club.

Maguire was again benched by manager Erik ten Hag for their trip to Wolves on New Year’s Eve.

The England international has been unable to regain his place in the United starting XI since returning from a fine outing at the World Cup.
Ten Hag was without Lisandro Martinez for the trip to Wolves, but still opted to start left-back Luke Shaw alongside Raphael Varane.

Ferdinand, speaking ahead of kick-off at Molineux on BT Sport, said: “If I’m Harry Maguire, I’d be looking for a new club right now.

“At Manchester United it hasn’t worked out.”

This comes after he defended Cristiano Ronaldo’s decision to sign for Al Nassr after his contract with United was cancelled.
