Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, has confirmed that Paul Pogba was missing from his side’s training ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Monday night.
Rangnick said this during his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the Newcastle clash at St.James’ Park.
Recalled that Pogba returned to Manchester United a few days ago following his long-term injury.
The France international was in Dubai, where he was recovering from a thigh injury he sustained during the November international break.
The 28-year-old midfielder is yet to play a single minute of football under Rangnick, who recently stated that he is only interested in players who want to play for the club.
Pogba’s current contract at Manchester United will expire at the end of the season and the former Juventus star is yet to sign a new deal.
“Today was the third day of training this week, we started on Tuesday, we trained yesterday and today,” Rangnick said.
“Today, we had 25 outfield players. Paul Pogba is the only one missing. Everyone else was on board. The development in the last week was extremely positive.”
“Well, as far as I could see in training today, they are all in good shape,” he added.
Man United are currently in the 6th position on the Premier League table with 27 points from 16 games.
