Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has predicted that the Red Devils could finish sixth position in the Premier League table should they appoint Ruben Amorim as their new manager.
Man United recently sacked Erik ten Hag following a poor start to their season.
The Premier League giants are believed to be close to luring Amorim away from Sporting CP.
United could have the Portuguese coach in their dugout when they face Chelsea in the Premier League on November 3.
Speaking on The Overlap, Scholes said:
“At the very best, Manchester United could finish fourth in the league.
“It’s very hard to see that happening at this point, you’d probably say sixth [is more realistic].”
Meanwhile, Man United appointed Ruud van Nistelrooy as their interim manager after sacking Ten Hag.
