EPL: Michael Owen reacts as Everton beat Arsenal

Everton handed Arsenal their second defeat in the Premier League on Saturday.

It was Everton’s first win in 11 games which also shows a massive improvement after the sacking of Frank Lampard.

Sean Dyche, who took over from Lampard last week, led the Toffees to a very important win that saw them climb to 17th in the Premier League table.

It was a totally different Everton side from what they were a couple of weeks ago under Frank Lampard.

James Tarkowski scored the only goal of the lunchtime clash at Goodison Park part to give his side what would be a morale booster as they battle relegation.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Owen said, “Going to Goodison Park, even as the best team in the world, is always difficult. It’s always a difficult place to go to.

“And when they play as they did, they get the fans behind, and that could be very intimidating.

“Yes, I know you’ll be disappointed as an Arsenal fan today, but this is the Premier League, especially when you play away from home.

“You have to have in mind that they’re not going to win all the games this season but you have to have faith in Arsenal. They’re a top team but today’s Everton’s day.”
