EPL: Liverpool’s Jota draws inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo over goal drought

Portugal attacker Diogo Jota has claimed that he is looking up to Cristiano Ronaldo as inspiration to overcome his current goal drought at Liverpool.

Jota has not yet scored a single goal for Liverpool this season, having missed the majority of it with a calf problem.

The forward has played a total of 19 games for the Reds so far this season but is yet to open his account.

Although the Portugal international has made seven assists, he insisted he is fully focused on his game.

“It is really annoying,” Jota, Ronaldo’s teammate in the Portuguese national team, told talkSPORT.

Ronaldo once endured a 16-month goalless run with the Portugal team back in 2010.

“I once heard a story, and Ronaldo certainly wasn’t 30 games, but he had a number of games without scoring, and people were asking him.

“He was saying that it’s almost like ketchup. When the first drop comes out, everything comes out so hopefully that’s the case for me as well.”
