EPL: I feel sad for them, it hurts me – Gallas names team to win season’s title

Former Arsenal defender, William Gallas has said it hurts him so much to swallow the bitter truth that Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.

The former France international said he feels ‘very sad’ for Arsenal despite their victory over Newcastle United because he cannot see Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City slipping up.

Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard and goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, had, after their 2-0 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday expressed strong confidence that Manchester City would slip up.

Mikel Arteta’s side has lost grip on the Premier League title despite topping the table for the majority of the season.

Arsenal is one point behind City, who has a game in hand and a superior goal difference.

“Man City are there and will probably keep that advantage until the end,” Gallas told Sky Sports.

“I think they can do that too, even if it hurts me to say it. When you are so close to winning the title and have the chance to stay on top, I think they will do everything to do that.

“That’s why I feel very sad for Arsenal. They were on top, they had the advantage and unfortunately, now they are second and they have to wait and see if Man City drop any points.”
