Arsenal’s new recruit Kai Havertz has said he does not regret leaving Chelsea for the Gunners this summer.
Havertz was a second-half substitute in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Numberg being the very first game of the pre-season campaign.
It was, however, an underwhelming performance for the former Chelsea star, with Mikel Arteta admitting he is yet to understand the best role for him.
After the game, the Germany international was asked about his decision to join the Gunners.
Havertz said that while at Chelsea, he was watching Arsenal and loved the way the young team played football.
“I felt the energy behind the club. It’s great to be here…” He told reporters in Germany.
“From the outside, it always looked like a big family, and I always felt the energy whenever I played against them.
”For me, it was always so tough to play against them because you felt the togetherness of the players.
“Of course, you know it was not the best season for Chelsea last year.
