EPL: Guardiola names matches that might stop Man City from catching up with Arsenal

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed they have a “terrible” run of games in January, during which they face Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Wolves in the league.

City also plays Chelsea in the FA Cup and Southampton in the Carabao Cup, with Guardiola’s side facing six fixtures in 18 days.

In the Premier League, Arsenal holds an eight-point lead over the champions.

City is away to Leeds on Wednesday night, with City sitting in third place having been overtaken by Newcastle.

“We have Leeds and then it’s non-stop. Our schedule in January is terrible in terms of the number of games and the quality of the opponents.

“So, we have to restart. This is what we did against Liverpool [in the Carabao Cup] and hopefully, we can continue,” Guardiola said.
