Chelsea defender, Levi Colwill, wants to hold talks with manager Mauricio Pochettino before signing a new contract with the Blues.
Chelsea is keen to tie Colwill down to a new deal, having rejected a £40 million from Brighton, the club where he excelled on loan last season.
The Blues insist the 20-year-old is not for sale at any price and views him as a long-term option at centre-half.
At the moment, Chelsea is well stocked at the back heading into the 2023-24 season with Thiago Silva, Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Trevoh Chalobah also an option in the defence.
However, according to the Evening Standard, Colwill doesn’t want a backup role at Chelsea and wants clarity on his situation before making any decision on his future at the West London club.
