EPL: Boehly takes decision on sacking Potter if Chelsea fails to finish top four
Chelsea co-owner, Todd Boehly, will not sack manager Graham Potter if the team finishes outside the Premier League top four.
Potter replaced Thomas Tuchel in September but has endured a torrid time in charge of the Blues.
On Thursday night, they lost 1-0 to Manchester City, a result that leaves the club in 10th place, ten points outside the top four.
Boehly took a long-term view after sacking Tuchel, handing Potter a five-year deal worth £50 million.
The American believes Potter can create a winning team by developing the players at his disposal, coupled with financial investment, and will not sack him even if Chelsea finishes outside the top four.
Boehly’s approach would appear to be different from that of former supremo Roman Abramovich, who employed 14 managers during his two-decade-long ownership
